Become a 2012 Prom DSM Model

Iowa's Biggest and Most Exciting Prom Fashion Show is looking for high school girls and guys with that extra spark to rock the runway in the latest prom fashions on January 29, 2012 at The Meadows.  Selected models will compete for big prize packages for themselves and their schools and be seen by top Midwest talent agents. The Prom DSM Model search is open to photogenic, outgoing high school students ages 14-18. There is no cost to participate, no obligation to buy anything, and no modeling experience is necessary. 

To register for the model call, interested students must complete the application below, be photographed at a Prom DSM Model Call in the latest prom fashions provided by Prom DSM Sponsors and provide a signed model agreement (and co-signed by parents if under 18).  Each applicant's best photo will be entered in an online contest in Mid-January where friends and family can vote for their favorite models.  The top vote-getters will be selected to be in the fashion show on January 29, 2012 and compete for big prize packages.

Process

1. Apply to Become a Model
   By completing the form on this page.  Afterwards, you will receive an invitation to join the Prom DSM Model Search group on Facebook to stay informed about scheduled photo shoots, important details about each shoot, and special opportunities for models. Accepting this group request will complete your application.
2. Attend a Scheduled Model Call
   Be professionally photographed in the latest prom fashions.  Your picture will be entered in the online contest to decide who will get to rock the runway at Prom DSM in January. Don't forget to bring your Model Agreement (Download).  See below for a schedule of upcoming Model Call / Photo Shoots.
3. Prom DSM Model Contest - January 15-22, 2012
   All contestant photos will be posted to the Prom DSM Contest Website to decide who gets to rock the runway at Prom DSM.  The top vote-getters will be selected to model in the Prom DSM Fashion Show and compete for the top prizes at Prom DSM. Encourage your friends to vote for you online in the 
4. Prepare for the Show
   The week of the Show, selected models will need to get fitted for their outfits at their assigned fashion retailers and participate in the Prom DSM Rehearsal on Wed, January 25, 2012 at The Meadows.
5. Showtime!
   Models start the day early with full hair and makeup by professional makeup artists followed by a walkthrough before the show.  The Fashion Show begins mid-afternoon on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at The Meadows in Altoona.  The top models and prize winners will be selected at the fashion show by text message voting. Participation in the fashion show and rehearsal is required to compete for the top prize packages.

2012 Model Calls

When you attend a model call at one of our sponsors' retail locations you have the opportunity to model and be photographed in the latest prom fashions and enjoy big discounts on your Prom Dress or Tux when selected to be in the Prom DSM Fashion Show. Enjoy touch-ups to your make-up before your photo shoot, but please come hair and makeup ready.  You must participate in one model call to be a model and be entered in the Prom DSM Model Search contest.
